Why I’m supporting Fight Hunger
Poverty remains a serious problem. It continues to affect children of poor families throughout the world.
I have been involved in helping since 1984. As a volunteer I spend my time working in villages in India, Bangladesh, and Africa. I have also witnessed firsthand how the lack of food and political unrest profoundly affect entire communities. In these situations, people tend to ignore child care.
By being active and joining this walk to Fight Hunger I am continuing with my commitment to help and to support fully the United Nation World Food Programme and partners’ goal to eradicate child hunger by 2015.
Please help now by making a donation to this worthy cause and join me in ‘the fight hunger walk’ on May 13th 2007.
about hunger
Hunger is more than having an empty stomach. Hunger means not getting the necessary daily nutrition to lead a fully active, productive and healthy life.
Hunger affects more than 800 million people around the world. A child dies every 5 seconds because he or she is hungry.
Here is a Hunger Fact Sheet with some statistics and comparisons illustrating how easily we can end child hunger.

Route
Our walk will take us through the grounds of University of Toronto – St George’s campus. A beautiful setting known for its stunning architecture. Here you will see some hidden, treasures of art still to be found in the historic buildings or amongst the many sculptures on campus. As we walk we can allow our minds to create our own sense of meaning or ponder what the artist had in mind.
